I began my collegiate career as a walk-on with something to prove, motivated by the belief that consistent work and patience would open doors. Through that mindset, I worked my way up the ranks to become a Mountain West champion in the 800 meters both indoors and outdoors, earning multiple All-Mountain West honors along the way. I’ve had the opportunity to compete at the NCAA West First Rounds and now rank as the top performer in Utah State history in the 800 meters, including a personal best of 1:47.11 outdoors. Alongside individual success, being part of championship relay teams has been a defining part of my journey. Just as important to me has been excelling in the classroom, where I’ve earned All-Academic and Scholar-Athlete honors. My path from walk-on to conference champion and school record has shaped who I am as both an athlete and a person, and I continue to chase higher standards every time I step on the track.

"Bott's record-setting time of 1:47.79 came in front of the Aggie faithful in the 800-meter invitational race at the Roman Ruiz Speed and Power Invitational. The two-time Mountain West champion at the distance bested the previous record of 1:48.10 set by U.S. Olympian and three-time NCAA champion Mark Enyeart in 1977. Bott also broke the previous George Nelson Fieldhouse record of 1:51.88, set by BYU's Jason Pyrah in 1994, by over four seconds. His converted time of 1:45.72, standardized for altitude and track type, ranks higher than any performance in the country heading into this weekend's competitions."
